To make the most of your photoshoot, here are some tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

1. What to Wear

I personally love neutral light tones like whites, blues, and olive. Coordinated outfits photograph beautifully, but it’s even better when one person subtly disrupts the pattern. For example, if everyone wears white, one person could wear a light blue outfit to add variety.

For women, flowy long dresses are ideal. The wind often makes them move beautifully, and if not, we can create motion—think dancing, spinning, or simply walking. If your session includes the beach, consider bringing shoes for resort photos but being barefoot on the sand for a more natural connection.

2. Best Time for Photos

We will start 1 to 1.5 hours before sunset to get the best lighting. On the session day, please allow extra time for arrival. Some beaches require a 5–10 minute walk, and parking can be limited, so plan accordingly to avoid stress.

3. What to Bring

  • Accessories for variety – Unique items can add personality to your photos. A family once brought binoculars, and it looked amazing! Feel free to bring small props like hats, sunglasses, or a scarf in winter.
  • Toys for kids – Something to capture their attention during the session.
  • Basic essentials – Water and sunscreen are always a good idea.
  • Embrace the water! – If you're open to it, getting in the water creates incredible shots. Bring a change of clothes and a towel just in case.

4. Locations

We can start at the resort or hotel where you’re staying, using its architecture to create striking compositions before moving to the beach. If you’re looking for a specific beach setting, here are some options:

Monumentos Beach – Cabo San Lucas

One of the most popular spots for photographers, featuring breathtaking views of The Arch and dramatic rocky landscapes. Located near Sunset Monalisa Restaurant, with a small parking area and a short walk to the beach.

Las Viudas Beach – Cabo San Lucas

My personal favorite. This beach is known for its serene beauty and rock formations, offering a private, intimate setting. Expect a short walk and some rocky terrain, but the scenery makes it worth it.

Playa Punta Bella – San José del Cabo

A secluded beach with stunning views, perfect for a quiet and intimate session. Located in San José del Cabo, you'll need to leave your ID with the entrance guard, park outside, and take a short walk down.

5. What to Expect During the Session

Your session will last about an hour and will include a mix of posed and candid shots.

But more than just taking photos, it’s about the experience.

I love to recreate familiar scenarios that feel natural and relatable—whether it’s asking you to hug like it’s cold, do a dance spin, run to the camera, or even run away from the camera for a dynamic effect.

These small actions help create authentic emotions, so even if you feel a little awkward, let the laughter come naturally—that’s what makes the photos real.

Of course, we’ll also stop for posed shots in stunning locations, but the key is to have fun and enjoy the moment. Even the unexpected, like wind tousling your hair or an impromptu splash in the water, can turn into magical images.
